Study Abroad
Studying abroad can be a thrilling, life-changing experience.  Taking a class abroad may be arranged to fulfill general University requirements, APS program electives or as part of the Integrated Learning Experience during your junior or senior year in APS.

The Learning Abroad Center at University of Minnesota helps students to travel and study abroad through work, internship and volunteer programs.  A wealth of information on locating programs, arranging travel and finding financial assistance is available through the Center.

You can get ideas on designing an experience abroad within the APS program by viewing our Learning Abroad Advising Sheet.  (See bottom of this page to download a pdf file).

Learn more about international agriculture classes and Travel and Study Grants by visiting the Office of International Agricultural Programs.  (See bottom of this page to download information on Travel and Study Grants).

The minor in International Agriculture provides students with additional opportunity to prepare for a career in this area.

"Independent study is just a great way for any student to kind of challenge themselves, apply their skills, ask important questions and gain experience for the future.  Studying abroad just kind of makes it more intense and gives you an international experience."
